AI & Automation
Compt’s AI takes on the manual work while your team keeps every decision that matters. Less admin for you, less hassle for employees, and no autopilot on the decisions that count.
How we think about AI
We’re deliberate about where AI belongs and where it doesn’t. A few principles guide how we build with AI, and every one protects your program, your data, and your time.
Your policy is the source of truth
Employees are guided by it and every claim is measured against it.
Humans make the calls
AI recommends and explains. It never automatically rejects a claim and only approves under rules you set.
Nothing’s on by default
Every AI feature is turned on per company. You opt in, feature by feature, at your pace.
Everything’s auditable
Every AI action is logged – what it found, what it recommended, and why – right in the claim’s history.
Your data is safe
Compt never uses your receipts or claims to train AI models. Your information works for you, not the model.
Separate from payroll
AI runs on separate infrastructure, so even a slowdown can’t delay someone getting paid back.
And no gimmicks. We add AI only where it removes real work — and if it doesn’t save you time, we don’t ship it.

A good policy makes every lifestyle benefits program stronger, so we made it easier to write.

Policy Architect
For HR & Finance
Every benefit needs a written policy — what’s covered, what’s not, the limits, the edge cases. It’s usually the step that turns a two-week launch into two months, but it doesn’t have to. With Policy Architect, describe the program you want and have it written for you — structured, specific, and ready to launch. From there, the policy acts as a built-in guardrail: it guides employee submissions in real time and automatically flags anything needing HR review.
Live · Enabled per company
Once your program is live, these four AI-enhanced features run the day-to-day.

Claim Autofill
For employees
An employee uploads a photo, screenshot, or PDF – or just forwards it by email – and Compt reads the vendor, amount, and date, then picks the right category from what your company decided is eligible. They check it and submit it. Filing a month of business expense receipts? Upload the whole pile at once and Compt drafts each as its own claim.
Policy Checker
For employees
While an employee fills out a claim for reimbursement, Compt checks it against your policy and flags a likely issue on the spot in plain language (not policy-speak). It never blocks anyone from submitting, just gives them a heads-up so there are fewer rejected claims (and fewer follow-up questions for you later).

Claim Reviewer
For reviewers & Finance
The moment a claim comes in, Compt does two things: confirms the receipt actually matches the claim (right vendor, amount, and a real receipt), and checks it against your policy. Your reviewer gets a recommendation—approve, reject, or uncertain—with the reasoning and any mismatches flagged. Reviewers never start from scratch; they just check Compt’s work, saving time and effort. Plus, AI never rejects on its own; that always goes to a person. High-confidence approvals can clear automatically, but only if you turn that option on.
ComptGPT
For HR & Finance
Ask “which stipend categories are underused this year?” and get a real answer in seconds, charts included. It’s computed from your company’s actual data (the same ones behind your standard reports), not guessed from what an AI model read somewhere.

Frequently Asked Questions
It never rejects. A rejection always goes to a person. It can auto-approve only when you’ve enabled it, the recommendation is “approve,” and confidence is high. Everything else routes to a reviewer.
No. Compt reads a receipt, understands what’s on it, checks it against the claim, and interprets your policy against it — well past character recognition.
Compt uses leading foundation models to power features like autofill and claim review and never uses your receipts or claims to train them.
No. Every AI feature is enabled per company. You opt in feature by feature, at your own pace.
For business expenses, yes — upload the batch, and Compt drafts a separate claim for each. Bulk upload isn’t available for stipend/lifestyle claims yet; those are one at a time.
No. Uploaded documents are read as data, never followed as instructions. This is consistent across every AI feature in Compt.
No. AI runs on separate infrastructure from payroll and reporting, so a slowdown there (a rare occurrence) can’t hold someone up from getting paid on time.
