Business Expense Management
Expenses and benefits, finally on one platform
Compt’s business expense software reimburses employees for out-of-pocket work costs — travel, meals, mileage — through receipts, approvals, and payroll. It’s the only expense tool that runs on the same platform as your lifestyle benefits, so HR and Finance manage both in one place instead of two.

Processing a single expense report runs about $58 and 20 minutes— and nearly 1 in 5 come back with errors that cost more to fix.

Why teams switch
You're probably paying for two tools that do the same job
Most companies end up with a benefits platform for stipends and a separate tool for expenses. Two logins, two integrations, and Finance reconciling both. Compt does both in one place.
Same app your people know
If your team already submits stipends through Compt, expenses work the same way. No second tool to learn.
No new plumbing
Reimbursements ride the same HRIS and payroll connections Compt already uses. Nothing extra to maintain.
Finance reconciles once
Set policy once, review only what needs a second look, and get it all in one export at close instead of two.
How Compt Works
Receipt in, paycheck out
1
Set your policy
Decide what’s reimbursable, set limits, and pick who approves what by department, location, or role.
2
Spend & submit
Employees snap a pic of their receipts and Compt reads it— vendor, amount, and category fill in automatically.
3
Route for approval
Submissions reach the right approver and get checked against policy, so reviewers only weigh in on the exceptions.
4
Compt handles tax & payroll
Approved expenses get bundled and sent to payroll, so the money shows up in a normal paycheck.
Data entry, automated
Compt does the data entry. You do the deciding.
Upload a receipt and Compt reads the vendor, amount, and category off it, so the tedious part is done before anyone opens the form. Every expense then lands in one review queue where you approve, edit, or reject each one and filter by status.
The software handles the grunt work; the decisions stay with a person. It’s the same approach everywhere Compt uses AI.

Why it’s better together
Expenses and benefits, in the same place
This is the actual Compt menu. Business expenses sit right next to stipends, recognition, professional development, discounts, and swag — one login for employees, one setup for admins, one export for Finance.
It’s the same platform behind Compt’s lifestyle spending accounts, so the money you give people back all lives in one spot, however they earned it.
What it covers
The stuff people expense
Set the categories your team can submit against, tie them to cost centers, and decide what needs a receipt. These are the ones most teams turn on.
Travel
Meals
Software
Professional Development
Conferences
Mileage & per diem
Categories, cost centers, and receipt rules are all configurable per company.
Integrations
Plugs into the systems you already run
Expenses use the same connections as the rest of Compt — employee data syncs from your HRIS, and reimbursements go out as payroll-ready reports, with direct posting for ADP Workforce Now and ADP TotalSource. Nothing new to connect. These are just a few of the systems we work with.
SSO via Okta, Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra, OneLogin, JumpCloud, or any SAML 2.0 provider.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from people leaders
What does Compt's business expense product do?
It reimburses employees for out-of-pocket work costs — travel, meals, mileage, software — through receipt capture, approvals, and payroll. What makes it different from other expense tools: it runs on the same platform as your Compt lifestyle benefits, so you manage expenses and benefits together instead of paying for and reconciling two separate systems.
How is this different from a corporate card like Brex or Ramp?
Cards control money before it’s spent. Compt reimburses money employees already spent — without asking you to switch cards or banks. Card-first platforms want you on their card to work, which usually means moving your banking and giving up the rewards and credit terms you already have. Compt reimburses out-of-pocket spend through your existing payroll, so it fits companies that don’t want to hand everyone a new card — and if something was paid on a company card, employees can still log it for reporting, so both kinds of spend live in one place.
Can I control who approves what, and stop off-policy expenses?
Yes. You set the categories, cost centers, and rates people submit against, and expenses move through a review queue before anything’s paid. Reviewers can approve, edit, or reject each one, and filter by status — submitted, reviewed by manager, reviewed, rejected, processed — so nothing gets paid without a look where you want one.
Does Compt handle mileage and per diem?
Yes — Compt applies a mileage rate and a per diem rate automatically, so employees just enter the miles or days and the reimbursement calculates itself. Mileage uses the current IRS standard rate.
How do reimbursements actually get paid?
Through your payroll provider, approved expenses are set to pay out on payroll. Compt connects to payroll (for example, ADP Workforce Now) so reimbursements land in a normal paycheck instead of a separate check run.
Can we run expenses and benefits stipends together?
Yes, and most customers do. Business expenses and lifestyle spending accounts share one platform, one admin setup, and one set of integrations. For employees, it’s the same app either way.
